Bonaccorsi Races with the renowned Chris Evans Race Team
Bonaccorsi Racing, Inc. June 2005 Announcement

Paul Bonaccorsi has resumed racing and is taking on large-bore cars. Although Paul’s early racing success features smaller bore cars, he found the move into faster cars an easy one, earning the fastest lap time the first time racing amongst 16 seasoned competitors in the American StockCar Challenge, ASC series. Racing with the renowned Chris Evans Race Team, Paul enjoyed a purpose built race car, with tube frame, V-8, Jericho transmission, and slicks. Afterwards, all Paul could say was “Wow! Let’s do that again, and more often!”

After finishing second, Paul was penalized for a bump to a car and was repositioned to a 4 th place finish. The NASA rules are “no bumping.” The next day was another race and it went south after Paul was hit from the rear after about 8 laps. Even so, Paul managed to attain the second fastest race lap in the short time in the race. According to Chris Evans, “Paul was looking forward for the second race as he knew how to manage the tires better and knew he had a chance to win, but the win will have to wait until next time.”

The important accomplishment for Paul was having the fastest race lap and having a chance to win in these types of NASCAR type cars. These specific built cars are capable of some incredible speed – it’s definitely something I can get used to . . .” said an exuberant Bonaccorsi.

Pauls’goal for the weekend was to try a new series and car and develop a greater variety of driving experience to further his racing career and show new teams he is more than a front wheel drive car expert only.
